Cycling the Mercian Way (NCR45) – Chester to Salisbury
Richard and Chris Duggan, are the first to write an account of a journey using 45, well most of it, to cycle from Chester to Salisbury during a six day period in late May 2009.
Their story is very revealing in that it shows the difficulty faced by cyclists in negotiating this great route. I hope that inspires all of us who are trying to make this a premier route to re-double our efforts.

Users of 45 and 31 through Whixall will be very sorry to learn that the Waggoner's Pub will be closed until further notice following a severe fire, that destroyed the roof. Fortunately there were no injuries. Please note that the car park will also be closed. As soon as I hear of any plans to re-open I will post on this page.
